Luckily, the pianos are speaking out against it.
Austrian composer Peter Ablinger recorded a boy reading The Proclamation of the European Environmental Criminal Court from the World Venice Forum 2009, broke down the frequency spectrum of his voice, and transferred it to a computer-controlled mechanical piano.
Voila: a speaking (and environmentally conscious) piano!

Time to Start
My roommate and I are sitting on the couch.
"What would you be if you weren't a music student?" she asks me.
Pause.
"An astronaut?" I reply tentatively.
And then I make her watch a youtube clip of the King's Singers' "Masterpiece".
Which is really just to say: Welcome to the blog!
