Holiday gift, anyone?
Adopt a cylinder.
(Ada Jones and Billy Murray's 1913 rendition of "I'm Looking For A Sweetheart and I Think You'll Do" is still available! As is Stanley Kirkby's "Don't Go Down In The Mine, Dad", or The United States Marine Band's "Marsovia Waltz." Full list.)

Short People Got No Reason

Neumes on your shorts! High fashion? Um, maybe...
From Cafepress.
(bonus: I don't know anything about them except that they have a myspace page under Folk/Jazz/Rock - but what a great name, right?: The Neumes.)

Grow Up And Blow Away

Tuned Pale Ale by Matt Braun. TA DA! Think about all the time we could save with these pre-tuned beer bottles! (Since obviously it's going to happen one way or another.)

Meet Me At My Window
Selfridges invited bands to design store-front windows based on one of their songs! What have we got... Marina and the Diamonds, Florence and the Machine, Hot Chip, Empire of the Sun. Which window goes with which band is still up for debate (there's even a contest), but you get the idea.

Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend
I have a friend who, as long as she stays with her current employer, gets 25% off an ice sculpture on the occasion of her wedding. She wants a working water wheel that dispenses champagne, but I think she should get this statue of Marilyn Monroe.

I mean, right?

Don't Want No Paper Gangsta
HA! I'm so pleased with the title of this post that I think I'll take my bow and call it good. Thank you thank you I'll be here all week!
(In any case, it is REAL.)

One Day I'll Fly Away

James Coleman's Levitating Speakers. Levitating! As in: levitating speakers! Someone who knows tells me we can blame an electromagnet/superconductor combo, but I'd like to believe oh oh it's magic.
Too bad it's still a concept.

Where Do We Draw The Line
It's the Drawdio.
You attach the circuit to something that conducts electricity and then - you hear it! Basically, it's a simple synthesizer that uses conductive properties to create sound; you can "play" pencil lines, paintbrushes, clothing, water, people. SAY WHAT.
(The website has information on how to make one, how to buy one, where to see one, how to play one, and more things to do with one.)

Do You Believe In Life After Love?

Auto DE-tune.
Yeah, you read that right. Quote: "Introducing Moog Music's MF-401 Auto De-tune, featuring Authentic Vocal Imperfection(tm) technology, even a T-Pain vocal can be restored to its complete original character, scrubbing the pitch correction and leaving the untreated vocal in all its wavering sharp or flat glory. Results may vary, and Moog Music in no way bears responsibility for discomfort or irritation caused by the use of the MF-401."

The Way You Wear Your Hat
Instructables teaches you how to make your very own Wearable Toy Piano! This would be useful. I am sure of it.

There Will Be Snacks

Pianotable! Designed by Georg Bohle, this little baby is like something out of a dream. It gives such nuance to the expression: "I would rather play piano than eat, sleep, breathe, or do homework." Maybe that's not a widely known expression.
